‘Eithne - Idir Dhá Shaol’
A beautiful voice comes to us from the other side of eternity in this moving film about the life of singer Eithne Ní Uallacháin.
20th December @ 21:30, TG4
All of us are caught up in this world of conflicting emotions and that was especially true of Eithne who expressed her innermost thoughts in the songs of her native Oriel and songs she wrote herself.
With husband Gerry O’Connor in the highly successful Lá Lugh, she embraced the ancient and the modern, she strode the worlds of Irish and English and she could sing with heartrending beauty or play the flute with passion and imagination.
Eithne was full of the vim and vitality of life but at the same time was filled with darkness only she understood. She was the product of a uniquely Irish cultural heritage but her voice could reach something deep inside all of mankind.
‘Eithne – Idir Dhá Shaol’ is told from the intimate perspective of Eithne’s family, friends and fellow musicians. “Eithne was a rare talent and I’m very excited for people to see how my mother’s creative energy and imagination are represented in this film” Feilimí O’ Connor (Director & Producer).
Featuring: Gerry O’Connor, Dónal O’Connor, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Jim Corr, Mario N’Goma, Gilles le Bigot, Padráigín Ní Uallacháin, Cathal Ó Searcaigh and performance artist Gráinne Smith.

Bodhran-info and Christian Hedwitschak release a special bodhrán for charity project
Bodhran-info charity bodhrán 2016 “Golden Maple”
A year ago bodhran-info and Christian Hedwitschak released a special limited edition of the CoreLine series because of the 10th anniversary of bodhran-info. The edition was limited to 10 drums, which were sold very quickly. An eleventh drum of the same edition was auctioned off for charity on ebay.
They liked the idea so much that we decided to release a special edition regularly to support a good cause. Every edition will be limited and it’s a great occasion to get a special drum. To make sure more people can engage, we are not auctioning a single drum, but give 15% of the selling price of each drum for charity.
