Lineup announced for 21st Celtic Colours International Festival
(Port Hawkesbury, NS) October 2017 will mark the 21st Celtic Colours International Festival. Since its introduction in 1997, Celtic Colours has grown to become one of Canada’s premier musical events, and a cultural highlight of Nova Scotia’s colourful fall season. A unique celebration of music and culture, this highly anticipated annual event presents dozens of concerts all over Cape Breton Island, an extensive line-up of community events, and a nightly Festival Club.

Paul Hickey - My Love and Me
When Karen Deneiffe first heard the song ‘My Love and Me’ she was assessing songwriter Paul Hickey for a practical music exam in the Carlow Institute of Further Education. This is a song, she thought, that I would love to sing. It was a hidden Gem on Paul’s 2006 ‘Coolhouse’ album and his own particular favourite from that collection. (more…)

Music Network is delighted to co-present the second instalment of its Artist Residency 2017 with The National Opera House and Wexford County Council. This exciting concert series curated by guitarist Redmond O’Toole features a wealth of international and Irish musicians. On Thursday 20th July, traditional Irish musicians Zoë Conway and John McIntyre perform for the very first time with Iranian-born and Dublin-based brothers Shaháb and Sháyán Coohe in a rare fusion of Persian and Irish traditional music. The Seaview Sessions, live music, upstairs @ The Punchbowl, Booterstown, County Dubin
I saw Luka Bloom perform one evening in a small venue, candlelit, lovely atmosphere and a week later I saw John Spillane do exactly the same.
I sing myself for groups of American tourists that visit The Punchbowl, in an upstairs, old world, kitchen feel, front room kind of vibe of a room, and while singing, I thought that the room would make a great little intimate venue suitable for gigs for up to approx 70- 80 people. (more…)

Tønder Festival Full Programme …
The final names have been added to this year’s Tønder Festival line-up. Among them are Beoga from Ireland, Darlingside from USA and Frigg from Finland. And Niels Hausgaard, of course. The final programme is ready, and so is the Tønder Festival app.
Booking is complete and this year’s Tønder Festival programme has exciting music for all tastes. Among the latest names are the Irish band Beoga, who have worked closely with Ed Sheeran, and the critically-acclaimed American band Darlingside.
