Fiddlers Green International Festival
Celebrating 31 Years, July 23rd – 30th, 2017
Set in the picturesque village of Rostrevor Co. Down and nestled between the Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough lies the home of Fiddlers Green International Festival. This is an 8 day festival, a family event celebrating diversity and tradition through music, art and culture.
EVENTS: Festival week is packed with events and activities to satisfy every interest. Art Exhibitions, Workshops, local Sessions, Guided Mountain Walks, Mountain Biking, Horse Riding, Water Sports, Hidden Gems of History, Heritage Walks and Trails and of course good food served all day.
MUSIC: The Festival Club has nightly concerts featuring the finest exponents of Irish traditional and folk music held in an intimate 200 seat venue. We are delighted that the Sands Family have agreed to headline the final concert of the festival on the July 30th,17. This is a home coming concert to celebrate all the visitors who have come to the festival from far and wide. The Lunch Time Folk Club: This takes place each day featuring a mix of home based artists and artists from further afield.
The Acoustic Stage: Held at 4pm each evening is a show case for up and coming artists and new voices to the festival.
The Open Air Stage: Situated in the village square this stage provides free entertainment daily with spectacular Ceilis in the evening.
Children’s Events: The Festival is proud to have an activity based children’s festival in parallel to the music festival. It offers daily art and craft classes, sports events and a host of other children’s activities in a safe environment that will satisfy every child’s interest and curiosity.
Awards: The festival bestows two prestigious awards annually. They are the Hall Of Fame Award and the Creative Arts Award. The recipients are traditionally advertised closer to the festival dates.
