A concert featuring Ireland’s leading traditional musicians will be held in Dublin’s Grand Social venue on Thursday June 1 to support a visit to Ireland next month of Cuban uilleann pipers Alexander Suarez Mendez and Rosalia Acosta Corrales.

Chieftains fiddler, Tara Breen, is set to tutor and perform at the inaugural Belfast Summer School of Traditional Music, July 21st – August 4th, August 2017, alongside of wealth of famous names from the world of traditional music. Bringing together and celebrating both the Irish and Ulster–Scots musical traditions, the unique festival includes performances, recitals, masterclasses, lectures, talks and sessions across Belfast, supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Belfast City Council and the Ulster University.

One-of-a-Kind Program Offers Classes Led by Renowned Staff, August 14-18
Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School is excited to announce its 2017 class lineup and instructors. The week-long program, which runs August 14-18 at the CelticMKE Center in Wauwatosa, Wis., offers students of all ages an Irish cultural immersion with workshops ranging from music, dance, history, crafts, language and more.
“Every year, Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School works to create classes that are all things Irish for students of all ages,” said Jane Walrath, director of the Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School.
“We are thrilled to welcome so many talented and knowledgeable instructors this summer, many of whom are experts in in the fields of Irish and Celtic history, culture, music and art.”
