With a finely tuned mix of concerts, ceilís, workshops and sessions The 17th Gathering Traditional Festival returns on February 17th – 21st 2016 to The Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney, Co. Kerry.

The Gathering Traditional Festival is firmly established as one of the most popular celebrations of Irish song and dance the world over. It has grown in strength since its inception way back in 1999 and incorporates a finely tuned mix of concerts, céilís, sessions, workshops and master–classes.

The Festival promises music session’s morning, noon and night for those of you with energy to burn the ever popular Ceilís return with James Kelliher, Neily O’Connor, The Abbey Céilí Band, The Striolán Céilí Band & Johnny Reidy Céilí Band.

Also the popular set–dancing workshop for advanced dancers with Tony Ryan is back along with Sean-nós dancing with Gearóid Ó Dubháin and songs and stories from Kerry with Eddie Lenihan & Ray O Sullivan. Also returning for to the Gathering for 2016 is the Session on the Lakes, weather permitting, along with headline concerts yet to be announced.

The Gathering Festival plays host to numerous music and dance workshops throughout the festival with some of the best tutors around. This includes intermediate/advanced masterclasses in Fiddle with Accordion, Flute and Tin Whistle.

With the traditional music trip to Sliabh Luachra, CD Launches and many more concerts to be announced The Gathering Traditional Festival promises traditional music sessions throughout the weekend all under one roof!
