Come to Spiddal and take part in the 2nd annual summer school from August 3rd to August 10th, “Seachtain Cheoil Chois Farraige”, A Week of Music by the Sea. With master classes in all traditional instruments as well as Sean Nós Dancing, Sean Nós Singing and the Irish Language, taught by Ireland’s premier artists. The week will also include various lectures, pub sessions, concerts and afternoon sessions for all students, there really is something for everyone.
The beautiful gaeltacht seaside village of Spiddal has always been a place that artists come to enjoy the serenity and create. It’s been inspirational to many singers, musicians, artists and writers, including super–groups De Dannan and The Waterboys, to name but a few. Not unlike what artists through the years exposed themselves to, we want to couple the great talents of our generation with the inspirational values and influence of the area. Whether it is the interaction between the teachers and students, pub sessions, lectures or just audience participation, the week will provide culture, knowledge and memories that will inspire and last a life time!
