Despite funding cut backs/refusals the committee of Traidphicnic have ploughed ahead and with help and support of local community fundraisers,and programme sponsor ship,and reduced government funding,Traidphicnic 2014 promises a 2 full days of top class Traditional music,song dance,arts crafts and so much more.
What makes Traidphicnic slightly different is that the festival is access for all,operating a donate what you can policy,very much family orientated and run bi-lingually.
Top acts this year,Dermot Byrne and Steve Cooney,and Dezi Donnelly and Michael Mc Goldrick(thanks to AER LINGUS REGIONAL for sponsoring to fly in Dezi and Michael),along with Tóla Custy and Laoise Kelly,The Bonnymen,Ensemble Ériu,Johhny Óg Connolly and Garry O Briain,Siobhan Peoples and Murty Ryan,Niall Teague and The Fast Company.

Take a walk with Ronan and his hawk,or a guided walk on the beach with marine biologist David Mc Grath and herbalist Sinead Keane,see how a fiddle is made with Paul Bradley,enter the Camera Obscura,and join in the workshop,take a drumming workshop or join in the fireside session and turf fun with Steve Sweeney.If you have a cupla focal and want to try out your Irish,Traidphicnic is the place for you.
New this year is the Cosán Ealaíne-Art Trail that will showcase local artists on a trail of discovery around the village.
Traidphicnics master classes are back with Harry Bradley,TG4 Musician of the Year,Murty Ryan,Síobhan Peoples,Tóla Custy,Laoise Kelly and Jack Talty.
Neighbouring Ceardlann,Spiddal Craft Village are continuing to celebrate their 30th Anniversary with their event #30@Ceardlann.Free crafts,arts and demonstrations.
