The Earagail Arts Festival is delighted to announce the start of another exciting year, with a host of special events, gigs, theatre, comedy and visual arts to entertain audiences young and old.
With an extensive programme throughout Inishowen, Letterkenny and West Donegal, featuring the very best of local and also international performances, this year’s festival will be your one stop shop for great summer entertainment.
The Earagail Arts Festival is rooted in tradition, culture and the Irish language and this year features a host of music by some of the greatest and most celebrated musicians of our time.
Sharon Shannon, Frances Black & Mary Coughlan plus The Henry Girls will come together for a night of collaboration and shared tradition in Letterkenny on July 13th while also in Letterkenny on July 21st, Treelan, a trio of percussionists including Éamonn Cagney, Martin Tourish, and Nigerian born guitarist Niwel Tsumbu, extend beyond the boundaries of Irish traditional music, with African, Jazz and World rhythm influences.
Heading West, Proinsias Mac a’ Bhaird’s poetry is marked by a natural ease of expression, lyricism and sheer fun with Three Poets, Three Guitars in Dobhar on July 21st and Trad Tráthnóna with Zoë Conway & John McIntyre in Dunlewey on July 15th.
Closing the festival on July 27th is an exciting concert of Donegal Master Fiddlers, celebrating the life and music of three of the county’s greatest living traditional fiddlers – Vincent Campbell, Dinny McLaughlin and Danny Meehan. While also joining the festival are We Banjo 3, Emily Portman Trio, Eduardo Niebla, Bombino and many more.
