The Youghal version of Cork Rebel Week is entitled Cúltur Cuan Eochaille which translates to The Hinterland around Youghal Harbour.

It is a local partnership approach to engage with Cork’s Flagship Gathering project. The partnership includes Youghal Town Council, Youghal Credit Union, Youghal Chamber of Tourism and Commerce, Youghal4All, Youghal Rugby, GAA, Gortroe Ladies, Youghal Celebrates History, Local artists, restaurants and pubs and Community Radio Youghal all working together with Comhaltas.

As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting culture Youghal Comhaltas will host a variety of events throughout Rebel Week. A number of headline acts are already engaged, including Spielmannszug Komptendorf, German Band as well as La Leggera, Italian Folk Band. Given Comhaltas involvement it is to be expected Traditional Irish Music will also perfume the Festival with a visit from this years All–Ireland Champions the Moylurg Céilí Band from Roscommon. Equally a visit from internationally renowned Fiddle Player, Zoe Conway will delight all music consumers. A number of individual All–Ireland Champions will augment a must see Concert from Ceolta Sí following their successful summer season which included a performance to close Ireland’s EU presidency in Luxembourg.

In keeping with its commitment to promoting young performers from the locality the under age section of Comhaltas will be busy working in collaboration with local schools as they prepare for a toe to toe challenge with the German Band.
