The 15th Gathering Traditional Festival returns on February 19th – 24th 2014 in the INEC and Gleneagle Hotel with concerts, ceilís, workshops and sessions.

The 3rd gathering showcase series in association with Culture Ireland makes a very welcome return in 2014. The showcase in association with Culture Ireland gives bands and solo performers the opportunity to perform in front of some of the directors of key musical festivals in Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity and previous year’s showcases have been hugely successful with acts being booked for some fantastic opportunities overseas. Highlights of the 15th anniversary year include the long awaited return of Buttons and Bows featuring Jackie Daly, Seamus and Manus McGuire and Gary O’Briain plus concerts from Téada with Séamus Begley, Caladh Nua, and new for 2014, The Voice Squad featuring Gerry Cullen, Phil Callery and Fran McPhail.

The ever popular Céilis also return with Uí Bhriain, Donie Nolan Ceilís Band, Con Herbert & Friends, The Abbey Ceili Band, Striolan Ceilí Band and Johnny Reidy Céili Band.

The schools outreach programme is also back in 2014. This has been a hugely successful part of the Education Progamme where a group of singers, dancers, musicians and storytellers will visit local primary schools promoting the local Sliabh Luachra Tradition.

The Gathering Traditional Festival promises to be a non–stop weekend of music, dance and fun.
