Milwaukee Irish Fest Presents Irish Fest Family Day in the Village
St. Patrick’s Day event will introduce public to year-round activities
Milwaukee Irish Fest presents Irish Fest Family Day in the Village, a free day of Irish-themed activities centered around St. Patrick’s Day. The event will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Irish Fest Center in the Village of Wauwatosa. The event will introduce the general public to year-round, cultural initiatives offered at Milwaukee Irish Fest, while hosting a day of festive traditions.
“The Milwaukee Irish Fest organization is passionately committed to igniting a love of Irish culture in all people throughout the year,” said Patrick Boyle, executive director of Milwaukee Irish Fest. “This event welcomes you to explore some of the year-round programming offered by Milwaukee Irish Fest on a day when everybody is Irish.”
Activities at the Irish Fest Center, located at 1532 Wauwatosa Avenue in Milwaukee, Wis. will begin at 11 a.m. Entertainment includes Irish dancers, a workshop on traditional Irish drum, weaving and lace making demonstrations, crafts for kids and an opportunity for participants to learn to write their name in Gaelic. Tours of the Irish Fest Center and Ward Irish Music Archives – home to the largest public collection of Irish and Irish American music in America – will take place throughout the day. Activities are free of charge.
