New Dervish Syndicated Radio Show making a big impact in the U.S
www.dervish.ie
What started out as an experiment is now starting to make a real impact on National Public Radio in the US. Sligo based Trad supergroup Dervish were asked to make a sample radio show capturing the dynamics and character of a real Irish traditional music pub session. The reaction has been overwhelming, hence the birth of “Irish Heartbeat with Dervish” which has since been broadcast by nearly 50 radio stations in the US, as well as BBC Radio Scotland and RTE Radio 1 in Ireland. The show’s profile is gaining momentum at an exciting rate, and is now being transmitted from Saturday May 29th at 6pm (Eastern time) by its latest broadcast partner WAMU in Washington which is one of the bigger National Public Radio affiliated networks in the US covering Washington DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.

Musical Tribute to Paddy Gallagher and 12th Return to Camden Town Festival
www.returntocamden.org
Date for the diary: Friday 16th July – ‘A Musical Tribute to Paddy Gallagher’ at the London Irish Centre, 50 Camden Square, London NW1 9XB.
The concert will include music from Andy Martyn and Adrian Bourke (Slip Jigolos), The Long Notes, The London Lasses and Pete Quinn, Gary Connolly, Brian Rooney, James Carty and more. Whilst playing at a gig last September, Paddy suffered a haemorrhage to the brain which has resulted in neurological impairments affecting his mobility and speech. Not one to be held down, Paddy is fighting back and has already made real progress. His sense of humour is alive and well and he still enjoys regular laughs with his family and friends. Guitarist and singer, Paddy Gallagher has been a central figure and a popular personality in the London Irish music community over the last three decades – we know that many of you will be keen to support this event for Paddy.
Tickets will be on sale soon through the Festival website www.returntocamden.org
