And traditional music enthusiast, Martin. has been conscious of leaner times with this year’s programming - apart from the workshops only a handful of events have a cover charge, with the majority being free
The word “Nyah” refers to the very expression of the tradition; to the
soul and feeling that makes it so unique…… it’s about the lift the music can
give to the hardest heart.
There’ll be no shortage of top-flight musicians, dancers and singers in
seisiún at the Nyah Féile Ealaíon Chontae an Chabhán 2010. The likes of
accordion legend Joe Burke, Kieran Hanrahan ,banjo and fiddler Antoin Mac Gabhann are just the tip of the iceberg,
The 2010 Nyah Festival will see events in, Belturbet,Cavan Town, Ballyjamesduff, and Kilnaleck - while Virginia will host a gala concert featuring the best of the best in memory of mouthorgan king Eddie Clarke. Dr Brian Galligan Memorial Kilnaleck concert. and NYAH Traditional Singing Apprenticeship Project
