The full programme for Fiddle 2007 has been announced. Tickets go on sale on
18 September.

Concerts
For the first time the volunteer-run Festival presents three major concerts, with the addition of an early Sunday evening show.

Friday 16 November (8.00 pm)
• World Premiere of Simon Thoumire’s Scots Fiddle Concerto, featuring Aidan O’Rourke, Jenna Reid, Gordon Gunn, Mairi Campbell and Patsy Reid.
• Lau: Aidan O’Rourke, Kris Drever and Martin Green.

Simon Thoumire’s work has been described by Rob Adams in The Herald as “delicate lyricism…commanding in its execution”, by Sue Wilson in The Scotsman as “brimming with wit, mischief and virtuosity…nothing short of electrifying.”

His concerto has been written so that highly talented traditional musicians can show their virtuoso skills within this format.
